Quotes I am inspired by

"When you begin to touch your heart or let your heart be touched, you begin to discover that it's bottomless, that it doesn't have any resolution, that this heart is huge, vast, and limitless. You begin to discover how much warmth and gentleness is there, as well as how much space." Pema Chodron

"The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature."
Joseph Campbell

"To allow the heart to be the distributor of energy on this planet; to allow your heart, your feelings, your emotions to distribute your energy; to pull that energy from the earth, from the sky, to pull it down and distribute... it from your heart, the very center of your being that is our purpose." Brooke Medicine Eagle

Gravity

How surely gravtity's law, strong as an ocean current, takes hold of even
the strongest thing
And pulls it towards the heart of the world.
Each thing, each stone, blossom, child, human is held in place.
Only we, in our arrogance push out beyond what we belong to for some empty freedom.
If we surrendered to earth's intelligence, we could rise up, rooted like trees.
Instead, sometimes, we entangle ourselves in knots of our own making,
And struggle, confused.
So like children, we begin to learn again from the things,
Because they are in love's heart and have never left her.
This is what the things can teach us: to fall.
Patiently to trust our heaviness.
Even a bird has to do that before she can fly.

Rilke

“The touch of an infinite mystery passes over the trivial and the familiar, making it break out into ineffable music... The trees, the stars, and the blue hills ache with a meaning which can never be uttered in words.” Tagore

"The water in a vessel is sparkling; the water in the sea is dark. The small truth has words which are clear; the great truth has great silence." Tagore

"But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls." Kahlil Gibran

"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” Rumi

"If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it's not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That's why it's your path." Joseph Campbell

"If I had influence with the good fairy who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children, I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life." Rachel Carson

"Do not compare yourself with others, for you are a unique and wonderful creation. Make your own beautiful footprints in the snow." Barbara Kimball

"Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared." Buddha

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” Leo Buscaglia

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marrianne Williamson

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
Rumi
